Pontiac G6 - satisfaction for gourmets World Auto News & Reviews Advanced Autozone

A well known auto brand Pontiac doesn’t stop surprise us. The true fans are waiting for something new with great pleasure and in the next year the company will gladded all us, as Pontiac’s hardtop convertible comes back for the 2008 model year with updated equipment and an available, upsized V-6 engine.

The optional 3.9-liter V-6 is rated at 222 horsepower and 238 lb-ft of torque, and gets mated to a four-speed automatic transmission with a manual shift mode.

The main attractive characteristic of this G6 variant – it’s folding hardtop. Pontiac says it stows itself at the push of a button in about 30 seconds. That sizable roof is also the reason as there’s not much luggage space in the trunk when the top is down. The G6 doesn’t have two back seats that look more comfortable for a weekend bag than for any adult friends you might indulge. The seats in back are about the best of the four-seat hardtop convertibles (counting in the C70 and Eos) but still cramped for anything more serious than a trip to dinner. Pontiac adds that the G6 Convertible gets tested at the factory to ensure the top is leak-free.

Standard features for the G6 Convertible include power windows, locks and mirrors; a CD player and XM (new for 2008); and OnStar. Options include a six-CD changer and remote start.

New features for 2008 include side airbags; anti-lock brakes and traction control; and an auxiliary jack for iPods.

You must admit that this nice novelty will bring pleasure to its users!
