Sukuzi delays the launch of Kizashi-based sedan

Due to the current worldwide economic crisis Suzuki is forced to delay its intentions for the following year introduce its latest large car, and this decision also includes the delay of the construction of their new manufacturing plants located in Thailand and Russia.
It was reported by the daily Nikkei publication of Japan and preserves identical pronouncements from a list of automotive manufacturers as the auto industry maintains a dormant posture.
The initial intention was to publicly introduce a large car concept in the following year modeled after the Kizashi variants, the latest of which was the Kizashi 3, a chic sedan concept introduced at the New York Auto Show the previous year that most resembled a standard factory sedan among the three show cars. The release date has not yet been disclosed up until this writing. Suzuki had in mind to produce the Kizashi in a totally new factory in Japan and then introduce it both in Japan and the United States in the middle of following year. However, the necessity to reduce costs, and the lost popularity of large vehicles have been the two main reasons for the postponement.
The CEO of Suzuki, Osamu Suzuki, only last September gave a clue that the Kizashi venture could be altogether shelved since it was not feasible to introduce a fresh vehicle into an already shriveling section of the industry.

When the vehicle is finally manufactured, it will rest on a 465 centimeter base that is 16.5 centimeters shorter compared to the Camry, but it will have a longer wheelbase to contain more room on the interior. source
