Cadillac has launched the 2009 Escalade Platinum Hybrid, the most technically advanced large luxury SUV yet, blending the exclusive features of the Platinum model with the fuel-saving powertrain of the Escalade Hybrid. It delivers 20 mpg in city driving – a 50-percent city mileage improvement over non-hybrid models.

Audi Avant Named “Executive Station Wagon”

INGOLSTADT, GERMANY – March 30, 2009: Audi is the preferred car maker among builders and trade contractors in Germany.

The brand was the readers’ first choice in both categories for a German-made “Executive Station Wagon of 2009”, as surveyed in the trade publications Deutsche Handwerks Zeitung and Handwerk Magazin. While the Audi A4 Avant took the laurels in the standard-size category, the Audi A6 Avant prevailed in the full-size category. Altogether 29 station wagon models were considered.

Sporty and dynamic design, combined with high utility: the Avant concept so impressed participants in the readers’ survey that it was elected “Executive Station Wagon of 2009”.

General Motors CEO Rick Wagoner resigns under pressure from Obama

Just a day before President Barack Obama announces his plans to help General Motors and Chrysler LLC, Rick Wagoner has resigned his position as Chief Executive Officer of GM. According to a report by Reuters, Wagoner resigned after being pressured from the Obama administration on Sunday as the government prepares to announce the second round of bailout money for the Detroit automaker.

It was reported on Friday, that Rick Wagoner was in Washington, D.C. meeting with Steve Rattner and the auto task force. We’re guessing the decision to resign his position as CEO started then. GM has yet to release any official statement but a White House official says that the resignation was done at the request of the Obama administration.

All sites are nominated by Suzuki franchised dealers in the UK upon the adherence to strict criteria demanded by the Japanese manufacturer. In addition, Suzuki OEM replacement parts will be promoted, avoiding the risk of invalidating a vehicle’s warranty, and only Suzuki GB selected paint brands, namely Akzo Sikkens, Glasurit, RM, or Standox, employed at Suzuki production facilities, have been approved.
