Toyota parting with parts
Friday, May 29th, 2009
Times must be hard at Toyota: the company’s F1 team is putting some genuine Grand Prix hardware up for sale.
Formula One merchandise more typically consists of items such as caps, T-shirts and keyrings.
But now Toyota’s grand prix team is selling a host of high-tech parts from its past racing cars.
Carbon fibre wings, brakes and light alloy wheels can all be had with the click of a mouse, with prices ranging from £175 to £4,400.
At the bargain end of the market there are wheels, brake discs and suspension parts from less than £200.
Front and rear wing assemblies can be yours for between £700 and £2,000.
And if you want that ultimate desk accessory, a complete rear wing, engine cover and underbody section – virtually half a car – has an asking price of £4,400.
“While stocks last” promises to be an apt sales pitch as F1 fans rush to snap up a rare piece of memorabilia.
