The Hulme supercar has been unveiled and Hulme’s boss took it for a ride over Auckland’s Harbour Bridge.
Named in honour of New Zealand’s Formula One world champion, Denny Hulme, the production Hulme supercar was unveiled in Auckland on the weekend.
Hulme’s boss, 68-year-old Jock Freemantle (pictured driving), drove the 7.0-litre road car which is wrapped in a carbon-fibre body.
The powerful engine is a LS-7 Corvette-sourced V8 with 600hp and 443lb ft of torque propelling the 980kg body. Freemantle says top speed is just off 321kmh.
Estimated to cost over $1 million and with only 20 to be built each year, don’t expect to get your hands on any real soon.
However, Freemantle told The Dominion Post that the royal Family in Saudi Arabia offered US$1 million for it, but he won’t be taking orders till the cars have been built.
