Honda’s CEO Takeo Fukui has finally had the epiphany we’ve all been waiting for. He has confirmed plans for Honda to launch its first V8 in its luxury Acura brand. Fukui said that Acura sales are down 15.3 percent for the first nine months of this year and that its flagship RL sedan needs something extra.
The base TL (280 horsepower 3.5L V6) starts at $34,955 and with the Technology Package it is $38,685. The TL equipped with the Super Handling All-Wheel-Drive system and the 305 horsepower 3.7L V6 starts at $38,505 and with the Technology Package it starts at $42,235.

In order to qualify for the award a vehicle must earn the highest rating of good in the Institute’s front, side, and rear tests and be equipped with electronic stability control.
The 2009 RL improved in the rear crash tests in which the 2005-08 model only received a marginal rating.
The 2009 RL is already in showrooms and starts at $46,280. It is powered by a 300 horsepower 3.7L V6 that is mated to Acura’s Super-Handling All-Wheel-Drive system.
It may be safe, but can you get over that front end?

A few days ago the resurrected 2010 Acura NSX was caught by spies on the famed Nurburgring in Germany. Now the car has been unofficially clocked doing a lap time of 7:37 by spies.
