Cadillac Considering V-8 Diesel Option for CTS?

The folks over at Motor Trend have gotten word that GM is currently talking about the possibility of fitting its 4.5-liter Duramax V-8 turbo-diesel under the hood of the Cadillac CTS. Their sources say that fitting the engine would be relatively easy, so long as Cadillac uses the raised hood found on the new-for-2009 CTS-V.

When we first saw the 2010 Cadillac Sport Wagon about a month ago, GM only released a couple of computer generated images with the press release. Now GM has released a few more images of the station wagon CTS showing it hanging out in the real world.

Cadillac Escalade could move to the Lambda platform

Cadillac Escalade
GM has previously announced that it has cancelled plans to re-engineer and redesign next-generation version of its full-size SUVs including the Cadillac Escalade. Now as the GM brand focuses on its replacement for the DTS/STS sedans, it is also considering moving the Escalade from the big gas-guzzling Tahoe architecture to a more crossover like the GM Acadia.

With enormous V8 land-yachts and even bigger Escalades rolling down America’s boulevards, Cadillac doesn’t have the most environmentally friendly of images. But that’s a perception that the premium GM division is working hard to combat. After unveiling the Escalade two-mode hybrid, reports have begun to surface that Cadillac is considering a four-cylinder model for the American market like the Saab-based BLS it offers in Europe.

2010 Cadillac SRX Crossover
Along with the 2010 Cadillac CTS Sport Wagon, GM is providing a sneak peek at the 2010 Cadillac SRX. The new 2010 SRX replaces the current SRX crossover which was launched in 2004.
As you can see from the images the 2010 Cadillac SRX stays true to the styling and size of the Cadillac Provoq Concept that made its debut at the 2008 Detroit Auto Show earlier this year.
