New pictures of the all-fresh Infiniti G37 Convertible have been made available as the car made its world debut today at the 2008 LA Auto Show.

Still the first G Convertible patterned after the newest generation G37 Coupe with which it has in common the 3.7-liter V6 engine appraised in the U.S. at 325HP. The engine is supported by a selection of an electronically controlled 7-speed automatic transmission with offered magnesium paddle shifters or a close-ratio 6-speed manual gearbox.

Dealers will have the latest G sedan and coupe on the morning after the presidential election, Nov. 5. We don’t know if it’s intentional or not, but if you’re feeling good about who won the presidency, why not consider the upgraded version of the already quite worthy G starting at $33,250, not including destination charges.

There are those who claim to be able to reach across the ethereal plane, into another dimension, and speak with the dead. I will make no such claim. The best I could offer my friend was assistance in tracking down the plots containing his great grandfather and other relatives, buried in an Irish Catholic cemetery north of town. Aiding us in our search was the stately 2008 Infiniti G37S, which felt appropriate for this task - you don’t want to visit your ancestors in an Aveo. It would look bad.

Nissan has officially released details about changes to the Infiniti G lineup, including a boost in power to the G Sedan, all-wheel-drive for the G Coupe, and a convertible variant to be launched at the Los Angeles Auto Show this November. The G37 convertible will share its design with the coupe and will feature a three-piece retractable hardtop design, as well as revised HVAC controls for a more inviting experience whether the top is up or down.
