With the launch of the 3008 HYbrid 4, Peugeot becomes the first automaker to sell a full production diesel-electric hybrid vehicle.

The 3008 HYbrid 4 is powered by a 2.0-liter 163 horsepower HDi diesel, combined with a 27 constant, 37 peak horsepower electric motor, making it a powerful, yet efficient crossover. The CUV is capable of 74.4 miles per gallon highway on the European cycle, and emits just 99 grams of CO2 per kilometer. The 3008 HYbrid 4 also features Peugeot’s latest generation of Start-Stop technology, for even greater fuel economy savings.

The power is distributed via a six-speed electronically-controlled manual transmission, which the automaker says allows for greatly improved fuel economy over both traditional automatic and manual transmissions. The driver has the option of choosing the gear change mode at any time – manual or automatic – with either the gear lever or via controls behind the steering wheel

Say ‘bonjour’ to the all-new Peugeot 508, the first official pictures of which were leaked onto the web today. Designed to replace both the Opel Insignia-challenging 407 and the larger 607, the French automaker’s new mid-size contender will have its first public outing at the Paris Motor Show at the end of September, and go on sale across Europe and other markets early next year.

Peugeot previewed the new 508 at this year’s edition of the Geneva Salon with a concept sedan model, called the “5 by Peugeot”. The production version has remained more or less true to the concept car

Demand for the new Peugeot RCZ Sports Coupe has really taken off with orders for the first five weeks already exceeding over half the 2010 production allocation. Many orders include personalisation options that are a key part of the RCZ specification and available to configure online at peugeot.co.uk or on the iPhone app. The range availability is also expanding with more petrol-powered versions: a THP 156 automatic and the more powerful THP 200 models, in both Sport and GT trim levels, can now be ordered for delivery.
