Pontiac steps up the G6

It’s been a busy few weeks for General Motors, who has just announced a refresh for their Pontiac G6 lineup. Shoppers can expect more fuel-efficient powertrain options, some interior updates a more pronounced exterior style when the model goes on sale in January.

Specifically, the interior receives a new instrument panel and some color combination and trim updates. A new MY LINK system is available to integrate Bluetooth, satellite radio, OnStar and audio into a single interface as well.

Engineering Center in Pontiac

Fisker Automotive will open a new Engineering and Development centre in Pontiac, Michigan to employ as many as 200 engineers and designers.

Fisker is a green American premium carmaker, and they say their new 34,000 square foot facility will house employees to support the development and production of the Fisker Karma.

2010 Pontiac G8 Sports Truck.

Pontiac officially unveiled the G8 Sports Truck earlier this year, but at the same time announced that no official name had been picked. Well its been confirmed and I’m sorry to all you El Camino fans out there…but the G8 Sports Truck has been officially named the Pontiac G8 ST.

After GM unveiled the G8 Sports Truck earlier this year the automaker announced a contest to name the vehicle and after more than 18,000 submissions the G8 ST name was chosen.

Pontiac G3 not coming to the U.S.

Despite the fact that Canadian Pontiac dealers are already selling the new Pontiac G3 and that the U.S. EPA has certified the model for sale in the U.S., GM is not currently planning on bringing the model over the border.

2009 Pontiac G8 GT to get a price bump

2009 Pontiac G8 GT
Currently you can get behind the 361-hp Pontiac G8 GT for $29,995. However, heading to dealers very soon will be the 2009 Pontiac G8 GT and according to GM Inside News, pricing on the 2009 models will be going up by $1,365 for a total of $31,365.
