1000th SEAT Ibiza Ecomotive Registration

Spanish car maker SEAT is celebrating soaring sales for its greenest model, the SEAT Ibiza Ecomotive. Launched here just last year, the super-frugal supermini recently recorded its 1000th registration, and continues to prove extremely popular among buyers looking to maximise economy while minimising emissions of CO2.

Nigel Morgan, of Huby, North Yorkshire, became the milestone motorist when he took delivery of his shiny new SEAT Ibiza Ecomotive from Durham dealer S G Petch.

Ibiza rocks as sporty coupé

Some people are never satisfied. It wasn’t so long ago that making a sporty hatchback was simple: you lopped the rear doors off, changed the badge and ta-da! A car that’s largely the same as its five-door brother but that has greater appeal for the young of heart and the small of family.

The five-door Ibiza is hardly dull, with the kind of edgy design that’s become a Seat trademark, but the SC goes one further with a lower roofline and a heavily sculpted rear. It certainly lives up to its sporty tag, especially on the optional 17-inch alloy wheels, and the inevitably young target audience will love it.

The Seat Altea Is One Of The Most Reliable Models On The Market

MARTORELL, Spain – December 22, 2008: For the second consecutive time, the SEAT Altea has been singled out by the German vehicle certification body DEKRA, which has just published a study on the most reliable models on the market in a total of seven categories.

The DEKRA study, Europe’s most significant test involving the highest number of vehicles, analysed car reliability in three broad mileage ranges – 0 – 50,000 km; 50,000 -100,000 km; and 100,000 -150,000 km.

Seat Exeo Unveiled in Paris

Seat Exeo
Volkswagen are giving the media an advanced preview of their show highlights this evening before the main Paris Motor Show commences tomorrow and one of the models presented was the brand new(sort of) Seat Exeo. We say brand new, but of course hiding beneath the body is the platform of the previous generation Audi A4, making this new Exeo four door sedan about seven years old.

Six Thrilling Years For Seat Sport UK

Following six successful years in British motorsport, SEAT UK has decided that it will not participate in the British Touring Car Championship for the 2009 season.

This year will also mark the end of the SEAT Cupra Championship, the popular and highly-regarded one-make series that has nurtured talented drivers on their way to a place in either the BTCC or WTCC – previous SCC stars include Gordon Shedden, Rob Huff and Mat Jackson. Offering the biggest prize pot in British motorsport, this series was first run in the UK in 2003.
