Tesla and TAG Heuer World Tour Arrives in Los Angeles

The TAG Heuer Tesla Roadster, traveling around the world on the Odyssey of Pioneers tour, has arrived in Los Angeles to begin its journey through the United States. This is the 12th stop of the Odyssey of Pioneers, the first world tour by a zero-emission vehicle.

The Odyssey of Pioneers centers around the 2010 TAG Heuer Tesla Roadster, a one-of-a-kind collector’s car incorporating TAG Heuer styling and design elements, a unique concept watch, and TAG Heuer timepieces. The tour celebrates TAG Heuer’s 150th anniversary and the company’s worldwide partnership with Tesla Motors .

Report: Toyota working on electric-vehicle prototype with Tesla

In May, Toyota and Tesla announced their new partnership in which the Japanese automaker would invest $50 million in the American electric-car company following it’s initial public offering, which took place on June 29.

According to reports coming out of Japan, Toyota is now working on a new electric-car that will feature Tesla Motors technology. Toyota’s CEO Akio Toyoda was quoted in media reports from Japan saying that Toyota is working on a prototype electric-vehicle with Tesla.

CNNMoney says that it has obtained an internal Toyota briefing document confirming the reports.

Elon Musk made $24 million from Tesla’s IPOElon Musk is one happy man. His company just went public, he’s going through a divorce and is living with English actress girlfriend Talulah Riley – not to mention he’s the inspiration for Tony Stark’s character in the blockbuster Iron Man movie. To make things a little better, Musk now has some extra cash to play with.

Musk, CEO of Tesla Motors, made at least $24 million from the electric-car’s initial public offering, according to filings and data compiled by Bloomberg. The move restores some of Musk’s wealth as he staked a lot of his personal money on the company and other startups.

Tesla Opens Up About Its New Old FactoryThe ink’s barely dry on the Tesla – Toyota deal that gives the startup electric-car maker a new manufacturing home. But today, Tesla’s going public with some details on how it plans to use the former NUMMI facility in Fremont, California, to build its mainstream 2012 Tesla Model S sedan.

The former New United Motors Manufacturing Inc. (NUMMI) plant was the old GM-Toyota factory that built vehicles like the Toyota Tacoma and Pontiac Vibe, until the companies ended their joint venture in the wake of the GM bankruptcy last year.
