Vauxhall ecoFLEX Experience - Finale in MalmöHelen White has been chosen as the UK finalist of the Vauxhall ecoFLEX Experience. From July 22 to 24, Helen will travel to Sweden, where she will take on the winners from 19 other countries in the final round of the pan-European fuel-saving competition.

The eco champ from the UK made the most of the motto “Green Drivers Wanted!” in the first two online rounds and beat 6000 participants from the UK with her skills and expert knowledge of eco-driving. In total, nearly 70,000 participants across Europe registered during the three-month competition. The international winner of the ecoFLEX Experience will be electrically powered in the future: first prize is one of the first Vauxhall Ampera models that will be on the market in early 2012.

Vauxhall: Ampera E-Revs Up For UK's Longest EV-ER Road TripLUTON, UNITED KINGDOM – June 15, 2010: Tuesday June 22 will mark a turning point in UK automotive history when a Vauxhall Ampera E-REV (Extended-Range Electric Vehicle) undertakes the longest single journey by an electric car on British roads.

The prototype Ampera, which goes on sale in the UK in early 2012, will appropriately be driven in relay by a selection of drivers from Vauxhall’s home in Luton, Bedfordshire to its passenger car plant in Ellesmere Port, Cheshire – a journey of more than 170 miles.

Vauxhall unveils the Insignia Sports Tourer 4×4

Vauxhall unveils the Insignia Sports Tourer 4x4With over 55,000 cars sold over the last 18 months, Vauxhall’s Insignia was proven to be a success on the UK market. Currently, the car manufacturer is proud to announce the release of the Insignia CDTi 4×4 that will hit dealerships in September. The model combines the 2.0-litre 160PS CDTi diesel engine with the Insignia’s Adaptive 4×4 system.

The Adaptive 4×4 system, which is a combination of hydraulic and mechanical all-wheel drive systems, is aimed to provide optimal traction in different driving conditions.

Using the system means that wheels do not need to be spining for corrective measure takes effect, enabling traction on mud or sand even if only one wheel at the rear can find grip. If the system detects the car travelling on a highway, it automatically reverts to front-wheel drive to save fuel and reduce friction loss.

 Vivaro Sportive upgraded with more than 700 pounds of extra featuresVauxhall Commercial Vehicles has introduced several improvements on its Vivaro range, which will take effect starting this month.

Such upgrades are intended to improve operator safety, provide more value to money, and lower ownership cost.

With the upgrades introduced on the Vivaro Sportive model, customers can take advantage of more than £700 worth of additional features for a list price increase of only £250. The Sportive now features standard equipments including a 16″ five-spoke alloy wheels, Radio CD with Bluetooth connection, body-coloured rear light clusters and mirror housings, and front fog lights.
