March 19, 2010: The motto says it all: “Green Drivers Wanted!” Vauxhall is looking for Europe’s greenest driver as part of its ecoFLEX Experience, a unique competition where entrants can show off their fuel-efficient, environmentally friendly driving skills.

Kicking off on April 1, Vauxhall will be looking for UK drivers to take part in a pan-European competition which it is jointly running with sister company, Opel. The contest will set out to find the driver who can squeeze the most mileage from one of Vauxhall/Opel’s ecoFLEX models. But first, entrants will need to prove their eco-mettle in an on-line quiz, before proving their virtual driving and fuel-saving skills on an internet simulator.

The second incarnation of the Vauxhall Movano brings a breath of fresh air to the light commercial vehicle market in the UK, combining innovative technologies with strong functionality and economy.

The launch of the new Movano also heralds the start of an ambitious drive by Vauxhall to strengthen its commercial vehicle offering. The company is escalating its activities in an area where it has an impressive tradition and proven expertise, with plans to double annual sales volume of Movano in the UK.

Design, interior ergonomics, model variety
The new Movano has a powerful and distinctive front end design. Vauxhall trademark elements like the horizontal chrome bar – housing the largest Vauxhall Griffin on any vehicle in the company’s history – and the signature crease on the front hood, mark the new Movano as a clear brand representative.

These are the first official images of Vauxhall’s stunning Flextreme GT/E concept car, which will be revealed at the Geneva Motor Show today.

In Vauxhall’s commitment to achieving power without the need for fossil fuels, electricity plays a key role, and the 4.7-metre long Flextreme GT/E concept illustrates how extended-range electric vehicle (E-REV) technology can be plugged into large or mid-sized vehicles, as well as compact cars, like the upcoming Ampera.

Vauxhall calls its strategy ‘e-mobility unlimited’, which will effectively adapt the highly efficient E-REV drive system – which removes the limitations of battery-only power – to vehicles across all market segments. In other words, the Flextreme GT/E concept shows that size really doesn’t matter when it comes to driving a car with zero CO2emissions.
