A research project will be conducted this week in Linz, Austria, to discover what the ideal interaction between people and humanoid robots ought to be in the future, Honda R&D and Ars Electronica Futurelab announced today. The research, the first of its kind in Europe, will involve members of the public directly interacting with ASIMO, Honda’s humanoid robot.

Some people are just no good behind the wheel. Reader Sebastian sent over this video of what appears to be an intoxicated driver finding a way to make a bad situation significantly worse (don’t they always?).
I’ve personally been in this situation; drunk dude slammed into me at 11:30 in the morning and fled right into a fence in a fashion similar to this video. That being said, I’m simply thrilled to see this guy fail so epically. Fast forward to about 45 seconds in and watch the driver’s daring escape.

We always like getting new videos from Top Gear or Fifth Gear because, when we do, we are always guaranteed an exciting trip down whatever fantasy they have in store. Back in June, Fifth Gear treated us all to a virtual ride-along in the Porsche 911 Turbo Cabriolet and Audi R8 Spyder, and that was as surreal an experience as one could get. The treats can’t stop there, however, so Fifth Gear has provided yet another dreamlike comparison for us to revel in. In their latest episode, the guys from Fifth Gear have decided to pit two of the most amazing sports cars against each other: the Mitsubishi Lancer EVO X FQ-400 and the Nissan GT-R.

And yes, we have another accident involving a rental sports car. Today’s crash concerns a 2010 Camaro SS (not that it matters, but that’s the one with the 426-HP 6.2-liter V8 powerhouse) engaging in some railroad track hoonery with the usual outcome.

Along with a barrage of pictures and details of its all-new A7 Sportback, Audi has also released the first video of the premium hatchback on the road and some footage from the official presentation in Munich this past Monday.
The sleek A7 Sportback, which fills whatever gap there is left between the A6 sedan and Avant and the flagship A8 saloon, is designed to take on the likes of the second generation Mercedes-Benz CLS and the BMW 5-Series GT. It will arrive in European showrooms this fall with two diesel and two gasoline V6 engines. Until then, make the jump to watch the A7 in motion.
