A more mature Beetle?

If there’s one thing that can be said about the Volkswagen Beetle, it’s that the car is certainly not an example of conservative styling. No one is expecting the car to lose its distinctive shape, but what if the next-generation Beetle looked a little less like a plastic imitation of itself? According to Volkswagen’s design boss, the 2010 Beetle will be decidedly more mature.

As we write this Volkswagen is testing a fleet of 20 plug-in hybrid Golf’s in Berlin preparing for a market launch by late 2010 as a 2011 model year - and you thought the Chevrolet Volt was going to be the only plug-in hybrid coming to the market in 2010.

It’s a new day in Tennessee as the state that brings you the Grand Ole Opry and Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge will soon be bringing you a brand-spanking new automobile factory cranking out Volkswagen’s NMS (New Mid Size) model, which will replace the current Passat sedan - not to be confused with the new, sensuously styled CC.
