The 2009 Volvo S80 has arrived and is ready to expand its presence in the luxury segment with the introduction of a compact, turbocharged 3.0-litre six-cylinder T6 engine to the range.
The new S80 T6 AWD model joins the high-performance S80 V8 AWD, and S80 D5 models to offer a range of sporty and economic cars capable of meeting an array of tastes and needs.
This fall, Volvo will give customers a sneak peek at its safest car ever made — the Volvo XC60 with standard City Safety. Volvo’s first vehicle in the Small Premium Utility segment, the new XC60, is a capable and charismatic crossover integrating the unmistakable versatility and safety of the Volvo brand. City Safety, the car’s most important new feature, is a unique system designed to help the driver avoid or reduce low-speed impacts that are common in city traffic. If the car is about to strike the vehicle in front and the driver does not react, the car automatically applies the brakes.

The interior environment in a Volvo should also be safe for hypersensitive people; an ambition whose result means that three Volvo models, the S80, V70 and XC70, are now recommended by the Swedish Asthma and Allergy Association. An increasing number of customers are also beginning to make demands on the quality of the air in the car’s passenger compartment.
