Alpina is like the second older brother for Bmw, after the M division. Known as a high-quality tuner since 1965, Alpina modified almost all the vehicles produced by the German manufacturer and with the launch of the 2009 Bmw 7-Series they decided to adopt this new luxury sedan and transform it into a mean sports car.

Based on the Bmw 750i, the new Alpina B7 will feature the well-known front lip fitted with the Alpina logo, a rear trunk spoiler and a new set of multi-spoke alloy wheels.

Mitsubishi Motors’ i MiEV electric car was selected by the Green Car Journal as one of five nominees for its 2009 Green Car Vision™ award, an honor that recognizes one vehicle that best envisions the future of transportation. The winner will be announced February 3, 2009 at the Washington Auto Show in Washington D.C.

“We are pleased the i MiEV is getting this recognition,” said Dan Kuhnert, executive vice president of Mitsubishi Motors North America. “Its design and execution are ideally suited to meet the urban transportation needs of a rapidly changing world.”

MARTORELL, Spain – December 22, 2008: For the second consecutive time, the SEAT Altea has been singled out by the German vehicle certification body DEKRA, which has just published a study on the most reliable models on the market in a total of seven categories.

The DEKRA study, Europe’s most significant test involving the highest number of vehicles, analysed car reliability in three broad mileage ranges – 0 – 50,000 km; 50,000 -100,000 km; and 100,000 -150,000 km.

At the 2009 North American International Auto Show next month in Detroit, Maserati will be celebrating the 70th anniversary of its first Indianapolis 500 win. To celebrate the occasion Maserati will unveil a special-edition 2009 Quattroporte Sport GT S, a model that it says is a “a real driving machine in the guise of a luxury sedan”.

The current Toyota Land Cruiser Prado has been around for the better part of this decade now. Even though it still looks good, it is estimated that a new model should debut for the 2010 model year.

This computer-generated rendering of a possible 2010 Prado was done by a Japanese magazine. It is assumed that design cues should match the facelift received by the 2009 Innova, as well as body contours that are similar to the 2008 Land Cruiser.
