Media reports, citing a Wall Street Journal article, have incorrectly reported that Toyota plans to announce a new recall for the 2004-2009 Prius to address the potential risk for floor mat entrapment of accelerator pedals.
There is no new recall being planned for the Prius to address this issue. To be clear, the 2004-2009 Prius was part of Toyota’s November 2, 2009 announcement of a voluntary safety recall campaign to address floor mat entrapment in certain Toyota and Lexus vehicles.

The Audi Group ended the 2009 fiscal year with a clearly positive operating profit and only a slight downturn in vehicle deliveries, despite the major effects of the global financial and economic crisis.
“The operating profit of €1.6 billion shows that we are among the best in the industry, even under difficult conditions. Our policy of consistently improving our productivity and investing massively in the typical Audi values of design, sportiness, quality and efficiency over the past few years is now paying dividends,” said Rupert Stadler, Chairman of the Board of Management of AUDI AG.
“We will increase our market share again in the current year with attractive, efficient models, drawing considerably closer to our goal of becoming the world market leader in the premium segment,” added Stadler.

Lexus has announced the UK market launch of the 2010 model year IS sedan that brings some equipment upgrades, improvements in fuel consumption and emissions as well as the introduction of a new F-Sport grade.
Available for both IS 250 and 220d models, the new F-Sport grade takes its cue from the IS F and is positioned in the line-up between the SE-I and SE-L models. Special features include a lowered sport suspension (IS 250 only), unique 18-inch wheels and an IS F-style front grille and rear bootlid spoiler.
In the cabin there are aluminium sports pedals, IS F-style sports seats, steering wheel and (on the IS 250 automatic) gear lever.
The seats are finished in a combination of Alcantara upholstery with leather side bolsters while the black-on-black interior colour scheme is complimented by a black headlining and grey stitching detail on the front seats and steering wheel.

Vincent Rambaud is appointed CEO of Automobiles Peugeot with effect from 2nd April; he will report to Jean-Marc Gales, Marques Director, PSA Peugeot Citroen.
Vincent Rambaud, 51, was previously Director of PSA Peugeot Citroën’s Latin American zone.
Jean-Marc Gales, said : “Vincent Rambaud’s international experience will be a strong factor in successfully meeting the challenge of Peugeot’s globalisation, at a time when the Marque, on the strength of a new identity and a totally revamped, expanded range, is rediscovering a growth dynamic”.
